New Technology. Your Existing System.

Join us as we showcase Automation technology from our various partners connecting to our existing plant control systems.

This day is about showing you how to bring new technology into the system you’re already running.  Whatever brand of PLC, SCADA or control system you use, we’ll show you how your sensors, valves and equipment can be made smarter – helping you cut waste and improve energy efficiency.

Hosted by Remtron, supported by Schneider Electric and Middy’s. Technical labs run all day for practical, hands-on learning – come for part of the day or all of it.

Technical Labs running all day for practical, hands-on learning.

  • Special Guest Speaker from Agriculture Victoria to discuss Irrigation Innovation Projects and Funding Opportunities
  • Multiple National Product Managers covering a wide range of Industrial Applications

Technical Lab attendees will receive exclusive offers on the day.

Session Details

INCREASING ENERGY EFFICIENCYSmarter sensors, valves & equipment on whatever PLC, SCADA or control system you already run

Learn. Irrigate. Grow. – Demonstrating the Future of Irrigation in Gippsland8:10 - 8:30 AM – Guest Speaker

Join Agriculture Victoria’s Caelan McIntosh for an overview of the newly branded Learn. Irrigate. Grow. irrigation demonstration program. This farmer-led initiative supports irrigators who identify challenges and opportunities on their own farms, with Agriculture Victoria providing grant funding, coordinating implementation and sharing learnings across the industry.

This session will explore how the program is helping irrigators evaluate and adopt innovative technologies through practical, on-farm demonstrations across Gippsland. Attendees will hear updates on current projects – including automation, variable rate irrigation, irrigation scheduling technologies and system optimisation – as well as an outline of upcoming funding opportunities that will support a new round of farmer-led demonstration sites and industry collaboration.

Smart Irrigation with Schneider Altivar Drives – Pumping Smarter, Not Harder8:30 – 9:30 AM

Irrigation systems live or die on how well the pump is controlled. This session looks at how Schneider Electric’s Altivar range – particularly the ATV630 process drives – turns a standard pump set into an intelligent, self-protecting irrigation asset.

We’ll walk through the pump-specific functions built into the drive using local and PC based commissioning methods: PID control, sleep/wake boost to stop needless running at low demand, pipe-fill and ramp control to prevent water hammer, dry-run and cavitation detection to protect the pump, and multi-pump staging for larger schemes. We’ll also cover configuration for submersible and PM motors, sinus filter considerations on long cable runs, and how the drive’s energy monitoring information can be accessed in a user-friendly dashboard.

Practical, hands-on, and aimed at anyone specifying, commissioning, or maintaining irrigation pump systems.

Smart Factory Architecture: Bridging Sensor-to-Cloud Connectivity10:00 – 11:00 AM

Unlocking Industry 4.0 requires more than just modern machines — it demands seamless connectivity between the shop floor and the cloud. Join us for an expert-led presentation that maps out the Smart Factory ecosystem. We will explore key hardware and software architectures and demonstrate how protocols like IO-Link, OPC UA, and MQTT enable secure sensor-to-cloud data flow.

The session concludes with a hands-on kit demonstration showcasing an end-to-end MQTT integration powered by the smart edge controller.

LIVE DEMONSTRATIONSVan & trailer walkthroughs over lunch

Phoenix Contact Infoliner Van Walkthrough11:30 – 12:00 PM

AFTERNOON SESSIONS

SoMove Bootcamp — Faster Commissioning, Fewer Callbacks1:00 – 2:00 PM – Schneider Motor Control Software. Bring a Laptop

A hands-on, laptop-open session for anyone who commissions Schneider Electric drives and starter products. SoMove is Schneider’s free PC based motor control commissioning software — powerful, and greatly underused. Most people stop at “read the parameters.” This bootcamp goes well past that.

We’ll work through the full workflow: building an offline configuration before you ever leave the office, connecting via the Modbus serial cable, USB, Bluetooth, or Ethernet, and getting a drive from out-of-box to running. From there we get into the parts that save real time on site — cloning configurations across a fleet of identical drives, comparing configs to find the one parameter someone changed, saving and reusing project files, and generating printed parameter reports for handover documentation and your own records.

Bring a laptop with SoMove installed. We’ll have drives and connection kits on the bench — you’ll leave having actually done it, not just watched it.

What you’ll walk away with:

  • A repeatable commissioning workflow you can apply to your next job
  • Config files and parameter reports you built yourself
  • Confidence in diagnosing a drive fault remotely before rolling a truck.

Machine Safety Innovation: Smarter, Safer, and More Productive with SICK Safety Solutions2:30 – 3:30 PM

Modern machine safety is no longer just about compliance. It is about maximising productivity while protecting people and assets. Join us for a practical demonstration of SICK’s latest machine safety technologies, showcasing how advanced safety solutions can improve operational efficiency without compromising protection.

This session will feature SICK’s industry-leading microScan3 safety laser scanner, Flexi Soft safety controller, Flexi Loop safe communication technology, and the innovative Flexi Lock safety locking system. We will also demonstrate the latest generation of deTec safety light curtains, including advanced functionality such as floating blanking and the new DMM4 muting module for streamlined material flow and enhanced machine access.

Through live demonstrations and application examples, attendees will gain insight into modern safety architectures, simplified installation methods, and techniques for reducing downtime while maintaining compliance with current safety standards. Whether you are designing new machinery, upgrading existing equipment, or looking to improve workplace safety, this session will provide practical knowledge that can be applied immediately.
