Event description

Join a seminar presented by SICK engineers focusing on Machine Safety referencing EN ISO 13849-1, EN IEC 62061 and AS/NZS 4024.1 in Australia and New Zealand. The training will cover the major 2014 revision to AS 4024.1, the first since 2006. The revised standard includes direct text adoption from some ISO, IEC and EN standards. In addition, AS 4024.1 now becomes a joint Australian/New Zealand standard, AS/NZS 4024.1:2014. You have the opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge and understanding of legislation and how it affects you as well as learning from industry-leading experts.

Your Need

In an industry with an ever-increasing focus on machine safety in the workplace, understanding your responsibilities and knowing how to determine machine safety is more important than ever.

  • What are my responsibilities?
  • How do I know if my machines are/are not safe?
  • How do I make my machines safe if they aren’t?

Our Offer

Spend a day in an AS/NZS 4024.1 Machine Safety seminar alongside others from industries similar to yourself and hosted by a specialist in Machine Safety and the relevant standards.

Learn about the revisions to AS/NZS 4024.1 (19 parts), two newly added parts as well as withdrawn parts.

  • We cover the new application guide and highlight the mandatory requirements within and the importance of the interrelationship between the AS/NZS 4024 series.
  • Learn about fault exclusion, good design principles to minimise attempts to defeat, safety distance calculation for presence sensing safety devices, the European vs Australian/ New Zealand standards hierarchy, how Performance Levels versus Categories affect your machine safety design decisions and much more.

Your Benefit

  • Know your responsibilities
  • Know where to start and what steps to take in achieving compliance with AS/NZS 4024.1
  • Network with others in similar industries
