ABB SynRM Motors
ABB’s award-winning SynRM (Synchronous reluctance motor) concept technology delivers reduced energy use and maintenance, high efficiency and reliability for many fixed, and variable motor speed applications, such as pumps, fans, compressors and extruders.
Unique to the SynRM technology, the rotor has no windings or magnets, just electric steel plates stacked together to form a rotor package. Unlike in an induction motor, a SynRM rotor has no induced current and, therefore, no losses. This makes SynRM the perfect combination of simplicity and efficiency.
